Image quality, transparency and local compression.

Are images uploaded for compression?+

No. Images are decoded and compressed by your browser. DATA OVEN does not receive or store the selected files.

Will PNG transparency be preserved?+

Yes. PNG output remains PNG and keeps transparent pixels. PNG uses lossless browser encoding, so the quality slider may produce a smaller change than it does for JPG or WebP.

Does compression change image dimensions?+

No. This tool keeps the original pixel dimensions and changes the image encoding quality where the format supports it.

Why can a compressed image sometimes be larger?+

Already optimized files may not shrink further when re-encoded. The result clearly shows the actual size change before you download.
